No-Groove Bars
I'm looking for a Merckx-style, polished siver, 26mm clamp, 42cm handlebar without cable grooves. Can anyone recommend a brand/model that satisfies these criteria? It seems the ones I've seen have cable grooves, but I am running non-aero on the Grubb, of course, and frankly, I like the feel of the cable housing under my fingers. I need a bar with a wide, flat platform for long-distance comfort. (My GB Maes bars are 40cm at the tube ends, which isn't bad, but the "deck" is only 12.7cm from the stem head). Any decade will do.

Our local co-op has quite a few vintage bars to pick through.
These look nice (25.4).
Brand New Soma Brevet Ergo Road/Touring Handlebars - 40cm or 42cm | eBay
I really like my IRD Blackbird Aluminum 26.0 (black) bars that I accidentally picked up. But they are very hard to find. I've written to the company, and they don't seem interested in making any more

Thanks, Clif.., not really looking for the gull-wing configuration of the randos, though.
Fiet: I'll keep a look-out for the Cinelli Merckx.
The Velo Orange Grand Cru Course (1st pic) looks good, and there is a set of Scott Liteflites (which I have on my Technium) (2nd pic) available online.

Thanks, davi.., I really like the downward angle of the Nitto bars at Rivendell, but I do not favor the backward bend.
Nice reach and drop, though.

I should have mentioned the fact that I want new bars, not used. The ones I see on the link you supplied have cable grooves or cable entry-points.

If you don't like the backward bend, the Nitto 115 is otherwise the same handlebar, minus the extra bends.
The 132 (randonneur) is almost identical; rather than being straight or swept back, the bar sweeps up.

Deda used to polish the center section of the Speciale bars, but it seems that they've gone to matte silver in the past year or two.
If you go with them, be aware that Deda measures width from the outside edges, not center-to-center. If you want 42 cm c-t-c, order 44 cm Deda bars.

Wsc: The 115 has the longest drop of the three bars in top contention, and an intermediate reach. I'm not sure how I feel about the drops being at an angle rather than straight vertical, though. I like the fact that the clamp diameter is 25.4: I wouldn't have to change my stem.
Sky, the Speciale bars have a longer drop, but a shorter reach than the Grand Cru Course. That gives me some options. It's appealing that they're double-butted, (shaves off about 65g in contrast to the Grand Cru Course).

Sy: Because of the long reach, the V.O. is still my #1 choice so-far. If I was going for more of a speed thing than distance, I'd think harder about the Deda Speciale.
King: I prefer the Nitto 115 over the 176, because the 115 has no flat area(s).
Thanks for everyone's help.

There might be nothing you want today and then exactly what you are looking for tomorrow...

I use that Velo Orange bar. Just be aware that you may have to get a shorter than usual stem to compensate for the incredible reach of this bar. I use a 7cm stem. I used to have a 10cm stem but I strained to reach the hoods. This is on a touring bike so the stretched out posture was not optimal. It'd be more acceptable on a fast road bike.
Rmf: Yeah. I see what you mean. I sure did like some of those 3T bars that were in your link. Maybe I can keep looking and find some just a bit older that are non-aero.
