FSA Crank Set and Chain line, Spindle measurement ?

I'm deciding to add a 46/30 FSA Tempo crankset to my Ciocc ? Just measured my spindle = 112mm. According to FSA spec's, for the Tempo crankset, spindle length=110.5mm and chain line 43.5mm. As best as I can measure, my chainline is 43.5+/- 0.5mm.

Question for the pro's, will there be any issues installing the FSA Tempo onto this 112mm spindle ?

Thank you

Ken B.

I'm not a "pro", but-
You "should" be good.
Keep in mind that not all BB's are exactly symmetrical. A slightly different size may have a greater offset on one end compared to another.
Don't totally obsess about chainline.
Think of all the gear combinations that DON'T have a "perfect" chainline.

I actually run my chainline a bit "wide", since I tend to ride the outer cogs in the rear.

I upgraded my crankset last year... the new one called for a 110mm spindle, and my bike had a 113mm spindle. I did have to make a minor adjustment to the front derailleur, other than that it has worked perfectly. As for the chainline, I have no clue what the chainline was, nor is with the new cranks, but I can use all 21 gear combinations. The combinations using the outer chainring and the two inner freewheel gears looks a bit extreme, so I don't use those. But it was that way with the old crankset as well, no nothing lost there.

I'm not a pro-mechanic or anything near it... I just tinker and experiment and see what works.

I don't wrench for pros, I prefer those who are willing to pay me

Besides the slight readjustment of the ft der (and cable "tension) I doubt you'll have any other issues. Andy.

Thanks Guys (Pro=experienced). Spindle symmetry should be the same as it is a FSA crank, I'm changing out for the 46/30T .

There's "should" and there's reality. Not always the same.
I have exactly the same brand/model crank on both my bikes. (cheap FSA's BTW)
IF my Rockhopper still had the original 126mm spacing, the chainline would be 4.5mm closer to center and require a shorter spindle.

Yep, my frame spacing is 126mm. So, the 1.5mm difference between the FSA Tempo (required110.5mm spindle) and my 112mm spindle "shouldn't" be and issue, (according to Andy).
