Help with BB and crank sets
So I have 1998 Lemond Zurich that requires a 68mm BB; I want to put a 2 sprocket crankset on that will fit a 10 speed in the back (Preferably compact). I'm not sure what parts are compatible with this old frame.

Your frame isn't 'old' in the sense that it will take modern components, you need to go back to the 80's to start to have compatibility issues.
For a 68mm BB, this is the industry standard for threaded, so anything from Square Taper (getting harder to find) Shimano HT2, SRAM GXP or FSA MegaExo will fit fine, with the appropriate crank, say something like a Shimano 4700

Yes, you are spoiled for choice. I like Shimano HT2, cheap to fancy, take your pick. Here's a BF pro tip- If your question is related to what you asked before, just continue your thread. You'll get better response.

You also need to decide the crank length. Most common sizes are 170, 172.5 or 175mm which usually corresponds to small, medium or large frames. Do you know the size of your frame?

Pick a crank you like. Then see if a British standard threaded bb is available for it. If yes, you are good. If no, look for something else. When you see a crank advertised for sale, the ad will state what bb it uses or you can google the mfg website. Don't try to make it difficult.

Probably not, since some cranks are probably 100 years obsolete.
Your bike should be a relatively easy bike to find what you need, since there's probably millions of them out there.
And fit crank length to your leg length.
I'm old and have bad knees, so I use a shorter crank, so I don't have to bend the knee as much.
I give up some "torque", but also avoid a lot more pain.

If you want some killer 10sp cranks for a good price get these. I have them on one of my bikes and am going to buy another set for another bike. They come with the bottom bracket, it will fit your bike. $69.97.

For a 57 cm frame a 172.5 crank would suit. The above Race Face crankset is a good deal but if you really want a compact, the "SRAM S150 2.2 Powerspline Road Crankset 50/34T 172.5mm Black" for $30 from bikewagon (or ebay store) is a good deal. A "Powerspline Bottom Bracket 68 x 113mm" should set you back another $25 or so.

The OP has a road bike with a 68mm BB shell.
HT2 BB cranks like the Deore are all 73mm BB shell spec, so they won't fit (chainline), also, the ratios won't be any good for a road bike, 40/28, 38/26 or 38/24 and will have clearance issues with the frame, where a road crank won't.

For your frame, you need a crank based on a 24mm spindle. So any Shimano Hollowtech, Sram GXP, FSA MegaExo, Campagnolo Ultra/Power torque crank would suit.
Shimano cranks only fit Hollowtech BB's
Sram GXP cranks only fit GXP BB's
FSA MegaExo cranks only fit MegaExo BB's (threaded)
Campagnolo Ultra/Power torque cranks only fit Campagnolo Ultra/Power torque BB's (they need to match same type)
In all likelihood your frame's BB shell is 'English' threaded. So whichever BB you choose needs to also be 'English' threaded.
Other cranks on the market with wider spindles like BB30,BB386 will not fit your frame. They are for pressfit BB style frames.
Edit: Correction - BB386 cranks will fit but they require a BB386 to BSA adaptor.
