M8-1.0 bolts or rod?
I'm trying to press new bearings into an old Gary Fisher Mt Tam. I'm having a local machine shop make a couple of "bushings" to press the bearings properly but they are not interested in making a bolt. I can't find any threaded rod or bolts in the M8-1.0 threading. M8-1.25 is readily available but not the 1.0 pitch. Will probably need nuts as well.
If necessary, I can probably put it all in a vise and press together but would rather pull with a bolt.
Any leads or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

A fancier form (with handles instead of nuts) is offered by Wheels mfg for 35 bucks:

The bearings need to be pressed onto the bottom bracket spindle while the spindle is in the shell. It doesn't pull with a through bolt like wheel or headset bearings so the threads need to match the crank attachment bolt.
If I can't find the proper bolt, I assume I can cobble something with either a vise or a c-clamp....

Aha, I was just recently pressing headset bearings into an old frame, so I jumped to that conclusion.
McMaster-Carr is the go-to source for all things threaded. They should have the screws you need, or appropriate studs or threaded rod.
My hardware store has those little bins of bolts and nuts that you buy by the piece, and I know they have M8x1 because I bought some for a crank that was missing them.

Maybe buy one or two of these things: https://www.amazon.com/Pedros-Bicycl.../dp/B000IZEH8I
Also somewhere out there exists a tool for pressing bottom bracket bearings in that doesn't run a threaded rod through the BB. It's for an odd type of European city bike BB that uses cheap pressed in cups, think it's called a Thun BB. Anyhow the tool is like a gigantic c-clamp.

I bought a few bolts of that thread at what was Car Quest.
Used to attach my BB tool firmly.

I bought the exact same M8x1.0 50 mm bolt at my local hardware store for the exact same purpose. They are available. If your hardware stores or auto parts stores don't have them, Grainger, McMaster-Carr or Fastenal certainly will
