Calling 10speed Campy experts!

1st question: Which Campy 10 speed (or maybe even 11?) shifters can operate a triple front? I know the ultrashift mechanism can definitely do it as it is just a ratcheting mechanism but I have read elsewhere that 10speed Veloce and Centaur shifters were also ratcheting. They just didn't have as many clicks.

For context, I am looking at pairing Campy shifters with a Shimano 6600 triple FD and XTR RD for the SO. She does not like the bar ends currently on her bike as they stick out a bit too far and hits her knees sometimes when mounting/dismounting. She'd like brifters and prefers the Campy mechanism vs Shimano (as do I). SRAM's double tap would just be too long of a throw for her. I know I will get 1 less gear than what the shifter was built for doing this "shimergo" setup but her bike is currently a 7speed anyways so still an improvement.

2nd question: Were the Campy Record 10speed cranks hollow or solid? Can I shorten them?

For context, I have a short inseam and 170mm cranks are too long for me. I am thinking about shortening the crank on my Merckx. I have not really measured the cranks to see if there would be enough material but if the cranks are hollow or would impede drilling anyways then no real point. I know there are short crank alternatives out there but would really to keep the bike whole. Well, whole-er anyways.

I have 4 bikes with Campy 10 speed and 3 of them use some kind of hybrid method in rear, running Shimano wheels. The earlier versions of Campy Veloce and Centaur(new hood shape) are Ultrafift that you can ratchet, so it is suitable for triple in front. I do not have the newer Powershift 10 Campy(new hood shape), can not comment on that.

I used to run a 9 speed Shimano cassette with 10 Campy using shimergo method.

Now all my bikes are 10 speed. I like running Sram X7 derailleur with Jteck , so I could use 12-36 rear cassette with 10 speed Campy shifters.

Even if the crank is solid, you'd have to shorten them a ton, like 15mm or something to get to a spot to drill and tap.

more like 25mm, actually... gotta have at least 3/8"" outside of the thread for pedal retention... at LEAST... and any remnant of the old threads would create a stress riser that would cause issues... i'll refrain from going into detail about the possible resultant injuries when pedals break out of crank arms suddenly...........

Campagnolo 10 speed record cranks are made in alloy and CF, If the record cranks are CF there is a medal insert for the pedals.
