Carbon Crank: Loose Pedal Insert Hack Fix

Problem: Older Campagnolo Centaur Carbon cranks with aluminum pedal thread inserts. Campy must have let the "New Guy" design them, as one of the inserts came loose so I couldn't remove the pedal. The insert would slip in the crankarm instead.

Fix (Warning-hack alert): Drill through the crankarm and through the insert. Insert a pin to "lock" the insert so it can't spin.
I want the pins to be softer than steel so the bit protruding into the threads could be chased. I found a couple of copper nails from my old lighting rods setup.

So,
1) Drill a hole same size as the nails until hitting pedal threads
2) Insert nail
3) Say "whew" when it provides enough grab to allow pedal removal.
4) Drill the remainder of the hole after removing pedal
5) Find the nail's a bit loose (oops)
6) Bend the nail a bit so it fits tighter, add super glue
7) Tap nail in until it protrudes about flush with the threads
8) Make thread chasers out of cheap pedals by grinding slots into the threads with Dremel.
9) Add a 2nd pin on the NDS arm with the loose insert. DS had not come loose, so just did 1 pin.
10) Snip off the remainder of the nail & grind/sand down flush.
