And there are others like the various Parks. Two factors come to my mind. Will you drive the tool with a ratchet wrench handle, and will then need a tool with a 3/8" drive, or will you use an open ended wrench (large adjustable or 32mm headset) and not need the square drive? Second is if the BB has a funky arrangement so that the tool needs to accommodate an axle diameter or a unique spline/fit.

I like and have at hand the Park BBT-22 (with it's square drive) and the Shimano TL-UN-74S. I've used a Pedros a few times and it worked well. Andy

Depends on what BB's you'll need a tool for. Some bb's use a totally different tool than others. Some
use a similar tool, but slightly different size. Buy some socks or gloves while you are there.

If you are only going to use it a few times, you might be better off just taking it to a LBS. If you are regular customer of theirs, they'll probably do it for little to nothing.

I've got a BB tool and a few others tools I've only used once because the cranks I replaced the old with required a different BB and therefore needed a different tool.

The tool would be used for UN 55 BB.
Thanks for the replies!

My Pedro's BB tool has both 24mm hex and 1/2" square drive options.
