Bikes: Canyon Endurace, Kestrel RT1000 Ultegra

Ultegra R8000 crank set compatible with 6800 Front Derailleur

I was told that the newer Shimano Ultegra R8000 crank sets are not compatible with the 6800 front derailleur, is this true? The reason given was a change to the chain ring spacing.
