Dura-ace 9100 double downshift on FD

Hi All

Would really appreciate some advice on an issue I'm having with my front mech. I've just upgraded both my 105 shifters and mech to dura ace, so I'm not completely sure whether the problem is arising from the new shifter or the FD, or both.

I believe I've set up the FD exactly per the instructions in the manual: it's positioned correctly, both limit screws are set correctly and the cable tension is spot on according to the two white lines. However, the FD will not stay in the w (low sprocket untrimmed) position from either direction. Downshifting from high trim it clicks down to the w position when I click the shifter lever, but immediately clicks down again to the low trim position when I release the shifter lever. Upshifting from low trim takes me back to the high sprocket without any intervening steps.

The shifter seems to happily shift between all four positions when I tension the cable by hand rather than in the FD. I have no inline barrel adjuster anywhere. I've taken it apart and put it back together and nothing changed. Same results when I play with the tension adjustment on the FD. It's new cable. Standard external cabling. I'm completely stumped. Any thoughts gratefully received.

It sounds like the trim pawls in the front shifter are sticking. Thats why its not catching on the upshift. it might need a flush and re-lube.

Also, make sure *every* pivot point on the FD is cleaned and lubed.
