Movement in my A-Head Set...

Hi guys...

I've just fitted a shorty stem to my Mountain Bike, but to my horror, now find that there's a small amount of play in the Aheadset stack.

Is it a simple matter of buying another spacer?

Cheers for any advice.......Rich

Do you mean that the compression nut at the top can't squeeze down on the stack, or the stem clamp wont tighten firmly?.
If it is the former, yes , you need more stack; compare the height of the clamp section to your old stem.

Thanks Michael,

I think it's the former...I'll pop into the LBS, and have a butchers at what size spacers they do....the play in the stack can't be anymore that about 1-2mm.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers....................Rich

Yep, as expected, all I needed was a 2mm spacer...can't wait to ride it this weekend...
