Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

My point is (obvious by now, isn't it? ) that you can't build your own wheels as a cost saving measure. Those who build them for their own enjoyment and to have something unique and personal don't have to justify their work any other way.
