Mixing b/b and Cranks?

I put a UN-72 b/b on a Canondale 2.8 900 frame, then I added a Campy Veloce crank set. The Campy has allen attachment bolts for crank arms.
Problem:
The left crank keeps working loose - I am left leg dominate.
Is there a difference in the tapper of a UN-72 and Campy crank?
Seems as if there is casting flash inside the crank arm bolt hole, should it be smooth front to back?

Thanks, Kevin Smith

A crank that wobbles loose can become permanantly damaged within minutes. Dont ride it until you sort the problem out. Is the flash the result of damage ?

Campy has a slightly different shaped taper to Shimano (more the size than the angle) , and you really should stick to Campy BBs for Campy cranks.

Kevin,
Nashbar.com sells a Campy bottom bracket for $18.95. I would get one rather than risk an $80 crankset.
Regards,
Raymond

Kevin,
Rule of thumb in bikes.
1. Campy works with Campy
2. shimaNO does not work with Campy
3. Campy designs Campy to work with Campy
4. Campy is just better than shimaNO
5. Use only Campy with Campy
6. Campy came up with the cool shimaNO spelling.
7. If you are going to go Campy then GO CAMPY
8. shimaNO shimaNO
9. Give your money to the Italians not the Japanese monopoly.
10. Repeat above.

Well I looked at units more and seems the campy was not seating on un shaft exactly - so I filed them the same and they fit fine - cranks were only $32 brand new with wheels bb was $12 so no big financial loss if I was wrong. I was looking for check with some one that there was no material difference in shaft grinds. First reply seemed to think no, they just were a little off. Gave a draging feeling when riding. When well mated the bike just flies. Everything on bike is mixup.
600 hs-Cenelli bars and stem. CF fork-Campy-veloce f brake-Ultegra rear brake, DA rear derailleur and rear hub and cassett 12-19( with a 16) ultegra front hub- DA dt index shifters. I got a set if Ultegra STI's but I do not like that brake shift combo in NYC.
Hve Mavic open4 rims. Really runs well just that one combo seemed not to work now it is ok thanks to all.
Sorry if I am a heritic and mix everything up.
Kevin Smith

Anyone riding the Trans Aternative NYC 100 Sept 9th?- if so say hello -red cannondale 2.8 900 racing.

Bikes: Seven Axiom Ti, Trek 620, Masi cylocross (steel). Masi Souleville 8spd, Fat Chance Mtn. (steel), Schwinn Triple Bar cruiser, Mazi Speciale Fix/single, Schwinn Typhoon

Campagnolo uses a DIFFERENT SLOPE on the spindle flats than Shimano, (or most any other company). DO NOT USE Campy cranks with any other brand unless the BB/Spindle has been designed specifically for Campy, for example Phil Wood makes BBs designed for Campy. If you use Campy cranks with another brand BB/Spindle you may PERMANENTLY damage the cranks, rendering them useless except for "art displays". NO KIDDING, I've had first hand professional experience with this problem, the customer had to replace his crank arms, (but did save the chain rings).
Remember, Campy was in business long before S******* or most any one else around now, S******* introduced planned obsolesence to the cycling world, could have designed their stuff to be compatible with Campy, even though they "copied" Campy for a long time, and their claim to fame was making fishing reels before they got into cycling, maybe that's why their stuff is so complicated.
Ride Right

This has nothing to do with your question.
But are you Kevin Smith the director?

Without getting technical.

If novice in the sport I reccomend you buy all the same brand. Since you have a Campy crank, buy a Campy BB.

Also make sure to buy the correct lenght. Not all are the same.
