What kind of grease?
Hey guys.. I'm going to be putting together a rebuilt 05 specialized hardrock. I just want to know what kind of grease I should apply to things like my ISIS crankset spindles, seat post, quick releases, etc...
I've heard "marine grease" is good... is that true?
Thanks.

You can do a search and find hard core answers for all of:
1) Marine grease
2) Automotive bearing grease.
3) Any one of a several bicycle specific greases.
along with others I am sure, but these come to mind quickly...
The bottom line from my perception is that anything will work, especially if repacked periodically and kept clean in between.
I have a small can of the cheapest grease from the auto parts store, and I expect it to fill all of my grease needs for many years... for about $3.00

Little Darwin said it all. The cheapest grease is just as effective. I've used the "good stuff" too, just becuzz. Marine grease is no big deal, like the fuel S/S. If It's a confidence issue.... whichever you like.

anti-seize compound, if you have any, would be good for the ends of ISIS spindles. grease is also perfectly OK for that.
