I know some people hesitate to buy tools.... and then there are people like myself that love owning the special tools (and knowing how to use them). So I bought a bike stand years ago. But I got a little tired of hauling my repair stand from the garage to the basement..... and then out to the backyard to use when washing a bike. So I use the wall hanger/display hanger (pictured) mounted on a basement wall at times.... when in the basement (it cost about $8 at HD). And I am now thinking about some sort of permanently mounted discrete outdoor stand to use exclusively when washing my bikes.
