SRAM Force RD

I just finished getting my new Force shifters and derailers set up and coming from 105's I really love them. Today on my ride I had a little problem. I got stuck in the bottom two little gears, it wouldn't downshift any further, just like it was jammed. I checked all the cable housings on the side of the road (still about 5 miles from home and uphill into the wind ) and couldn't find anything hanging up. I limped it home and got it on the bike stand and disconnected the cable. The shifters ran up and down flawlessly...so I tried to push on the RD and it stopped in the same place as on the road, about the second cog. I looked all over and finally found what it was hitting on...a pin that is used as a pivot point on the derailer. I used a small hammer and a socket extension and drove the pin back up to seat it, reconnected the cables and all is right with the world again.

My question is will this happen again? Has anyone heard of this before? Perhaps it never was seated all the way from the factory and now it will never be an issue again...or perhaps I need to send it back. Any thoughts?

You should take this back to your shop and ask them - they should be able to contact their sram distributor direct and see if this is a warranty issue or not.

Thanks, but I didn't buy the parts at a LBS. They were purchased from REI to save some $$ I will however ask the good folks at my LBS if they know anything about this.

UPDATE: Just to finalize, I have had no further issue with the RD since tapping the pin back into place. It's been almost 1,000 miles.
