Buying a repaired carbon frame - how much would you trust this?

I do most of my riding on a cross bike, and would like to have a road bike as well. I've got components for it, I just need a frame/fork. I happened upon an ad in my local Craigslist that I'm very intrigued by - but it's a carbon frame that has been repaired. It's an '06 Tarmac s-works frame - this is especially appealing to me because my current bike is an '06 Tricross s-works frame. It's pretty inexpensive, and it's been up on Craigslist for about a week.

Here's the ad, there aren't any close up pictures of the repaired damage.
56cm S-works tarmac frame carbon fiber frame with fork. This is USED and from 2006, but in good shape. Also comes with headset etc. The one caveat here is that there was a crack in the chainstay that was repaired (hence the low price) by myself, I used to repair boats, with help from a composites engineer. But I've ridden it for a year an a half with no issues, and the side that was repaired is STRONGER than the non-repaired side. And I'll guarantee it won't crack in the same spot. $450
How much would you trust that? Is there anything I can look for when I see it, or ask about before I go down there in terms of what exactly happened to it, how exactly it was repaired, etc.

Anything I should know?

He probably put fiberglass over it. Since he rode it the repair is probably good. But then, you never know. There's no way with the info you have to evaluate the worth of his "guarantee", so you'd best ignore it.

That said, $450 seems like too much to me. You can get good frames for a lot less. What is it about this one that makes it so compelling?

Unless it was fixed by a company who makes/repairs carbon frames and warranties their service such as Calfee I'd stay away from that frame.

Thanks guys. Seems to be pretty much unanimous. I'll pass, and move on.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

With so much good used stuff at reasonable prices, why even consider something as questionable as this? If it was a hundred or two and you wanted to build up a "B" bike with some odd parts you had lying around for bad weather training, maybe, but otherwise pass.

If in doubt, just find another bike, otherwise it will just keep you all worried about it everytime you ride it and keep you from enjoying the bike 100%
