I gave my Trek 7300 to my son and he had the rear wheel collapsed on him. I have some wheels here from my Jamis to put on his bike, but I don't know how wide the dropouts are on the Trek. I know a few of you guys got one. Could you give me a measurement on how wide the dropouts are. He has no idea what I'm talking about. Thanks.

Was the original rear hub marked with anything? If it was a MTB hub, then spacing is 135mm, if it was a road hub then spacing will be 130mm. The newest version of this bike, the FX 7.3, seems to have a MTB rear hub - FH-RM30, so that suggests 135mm spacing, but this could have been changed since your model year.

Thanks Chris, the bike is a 2006. I did a search and couldn't find anything on it. The wheels, I have to give him are 135mm, so hopefully they'll work.

The 7300FX (2006 was a 7.3FX btw but spec'd basically the same) uses a Deore rear hub which is 135mm OLD. Check the archives at https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2006/archive/ for any other info you might need.
