quill stem supplier

I have a cracked quill stem. I did ask a q on the forum but I realised I was wasting peoples time, and didn't get a reply, should have thought before I posted! I've decided to either use an old one of my mates, or get a new one. I haven't had much joy at the lbs or ebay so thought I'd ask here. Using an old caliper I measured the stem and got these - bar hole 26mm, bit that fits the headset 22mm. I'm assuming these are fairly standard measurements for a 20 (?) year old Italian Somec racing bike. Does anyone have any ideas on the best suppliers for old bits? Preferably in the UK. Using a search engine throws up plenty of suppliers - until I access their sites where they don't stock anything of use to me. I suppose they try to drag people in to sell them something else - why? If you're searching for a specific item you're not likely to buy something totally different.... Rant over, just in case it helps the original stem and bars are 3TTT, and I intend to re-use the bars.
TIA

Nitto makes quill stems for 1" forks and 26.0 bars. See if a google search for Nitto Technomic or Nitto Technomic Deluxe turns up any sellers in the UK.

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

I presume if you didn't get a reply it was because no one here really knew the answer to your question. I assume you wanted facts, not conjecture.

As to quill stems with 26 mm bar clamps, those should still be common and I further expect your quill diameter is 22.2 mm which is very common on all but older French and a few other bikes like old Schwinns. Here is one US source:

Thanks for the replies, I'll try the suppliers. I didn't explain myself very well in my q, I had jumped the gun asking it! When I realised I checked again, no replies - not surprising really. I was not making a criticism of this forum as it has got me out of trouble more than once.....

I do not know about in the UK but Amazon in the USA has vendors with quite a variety of quill stems available. Also Velo Orange has a number of Nitto quill stems available.
