If the clamp is bigger than the tube, you can get a shim. Other way around, you'll need a new FD.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

Swapping with someone seems like a reasonable solution. You should post the model and clamp size you have, and the clamp size you need, so people can know if they can help.

BTW- it might help if you threw in the postage, and maybe a coupla beers.

So your saying that you want to trade massive amounts of narcotics for a properly sized FD?

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Of all the components in any group, the front derailleur is one of the least expensive so buy or trade for the correct one.
