Mine seems to work fine, bt when locked out still has a little travel , likke 3 or 4 mm, still
stiff, not loose. Is this normal ? Thanks Richard

I have a road warrior with a head shok and when locked out there isn't any travel.

There was a time that when I locked out the shok and it still traveled, it was repaired by the LBS
