BB sizing
is there any way it would be possible to put this:

on my old schwinn road bike? (basically, would that BB fit in an old schwinn road bike)
If not, what would? would it be possible to put a mountain bike crank on a roadbike?

British thread BB standard, Probably fit, but you can get something cheaper to do the same thing..
It's an External bearing crankset., so BB, Tube, is part of the right crank arm

is this the schwinn your looking for a stem to fit aswell?
what type of BB you need depends on the bike you have and the crank. the crank you posted a link to fits an english threaded BB shell of 68 or 73 width. without seeing you bike or knowing what model it is we have no way of knowing what will fit.

its a mid to late 80s schwinn tempo
i wanna make it a makeshift singlespeed cyclocross bike...

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!
What type is the existing crank? If it's a three-piece design with a square taper bottom bracket then any English threaded bb of the correct width will work. If it's a one-piece "Ashtabula" crank, you will need adapters to fit an English threaded bottom bracket of any type. Pictures of what you have would help.

isn't a mid '80s Tempo one of those Tenax bikes?
that should take a standard english BB so that one you posted should work

Dunno, it might be and, if so, it would be standard English threaded. Schwinn made so many low-line bikes for so long that I never tried to learn their model lineup. I just remember seeing a lot of them with Ashtabula cranks.
