6650 vs 6750
Feel like I'm nitpicking here.
Replacement of the FSA Team Issue Crankset IS a definite.
Shimano Ultegra seems the way to go.
Performance and at least one other outlet are offering the 6750 for about $20. more than the 6650.
Question I have is regarding the hollowtech design of the 6750.
May be lighter but..
Is it as sturdy as the older 6650 setup.
I don't care whether its stiffer.
(because I Do NOT want to wind up with another possible problem crankset)

Having done several thousand Km on my 6750 over the last few months, have not had any issues with it, it will cost more than the 6650, as it's newer and lighter, what goes with your bike best, the silver of the 6650, or icy grey of the 6750?

If you ever need to replace the outer ring because it is worn out or you want to customize the gearing, it will be far easier & cheaper to do on the 6650.

The outer chainring issue is a definite.
Like everything else cranksets keep evolving and what 'was new' and touted by the mnfg. is no longer available.
While I'm going to be giving up some rigidity and about 200g in weight, the 6600 series allow for easy replacement of both chainrings.
Although I've never gone thru a chainring (wore the teeth out, etc)the hollowtech setup sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
And the poster is right on customizing the gearing. I run a 46/34 on my 91 Paramount.
As age catches up, the chainrings get smaller ;o)
Thanks
