front derailleur shifter problem shockwave sus 850
Hi,I have just bought a shockwave sus 850.I took it for a ride a noticed there was a problem with the front derailleur shifter as it would not twist properly.I fiddled with it for a while and it came out and then saw it lined with PVA GLUE! 
seems the clever person who sold it me seems to have lied about it.Please tell me ways i can fix it and do you think i need a new shifter?
I will send pictures later as i am lazy and a 14yr old kid
