knocking noise in BB
I have a knocking noise as I pedal my bike from the bottom bracket area.I tightened the sprocket rings.I tightened the cranks.I changed the pedals and chain and freewheel and nothing helps. When I took off the cranks I rotated the bb bracket and though I didn't hear any knocking there was a clicking feel. Is that normal? The knock is once per revolution while the right pedal is abought at 2 oclock. Is the next step replacing the bottom bracket? The bike is an 85 trek 760 with all Campy Century components. What type of BB would it have and what tools would I need to replace it?Thanks in advance!

I had the same a short time ago on a bike that the lager could open. SO I opened, cleaned, greased and closed it untill it not mooved left and right. It is not good idea to press the lage. Need minimum press until it is not mooving.
Afte do the same will be OK I think.

Is it pronounced while climbing? I had this problem with my 98 Nishiki road bike, the bottom bracket was out of adjustment (cup and cone type). You will probably need a cup wrench to and maybe a lockring tool, I was able to do mine without the lockring tool. It is not a hard job but requires some patience when adjusting the cup.
