Is htere some better technique?
Alright well as some may know (becuase of all the threads ive started about it) im building a wheelset, i built the rear one a few hours ago and its all true and pretty. THe front im having a hard time with. See the hub i got is the DT swiss HUgi hayes one. well the disc side of hte hub, the flange(is that what you call it) is quite a bit larger than the other. So when i install the spokes they dont fit straight into the holes. So i actually have to bend them slightly, and when i install them so the heads are on the inside i have to bent them quite a bit, i can bend them back in shape but im not sure if im destroying them by doing htis. Is this alright or is there a better way?

Bending spokes is an acceptable practice.Doing so must be done with a certain amount of care though. You would want to avoid kinking the spoke as this would be a definate weak spot [wouldn't break right away, but over time bets are good that would be the one to go first]. Yes , we do call them flanges.Hope this helped.
