Please help the dummy..

The dummy being me. I've dealt with the joys of cottered cranks (on my raleigh of course) but this square tapered crank business is new to me, after much work with a cheater bar and a vice I got the locking nuts off the crank arm and now the crank arms seem to be frozen on the spindle itself... being as this is a sugino super maxy crankset and I'd like to use it on this bike after the rebuild, any non destructive ideas would be great, alternating PB blaster and rubber mallet atm.

Bikes: '93(?) Diamondback Traverse, '96 Gary Fisher Mamba, 1981 SE Racing Quadangle.

Get a crank puller. They are really cheap and an indispensable tool to have if you do any kind of work at all on bikes.
And when you put it back together make sure you grease the taper before reassembly.

You'll get a good primer by first reading about cotterless cranks (which includes tapered 4 sided BB spindled cranks). See: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tooltips/cotterless.html

You basically need a crank puller tool.

Note: When re-installing, it helps to try to look up torque specs, especially when tightening the bolts to press the cranks back on.

You need to get a crank puller Park tools makes the CCP-22 that may fit your crank. Check with the LBS to be sure.

you remove the crank arm bolts and then attach the crank puller to push the crank arm off the spindle

Make certain the tool is completely threaded into the cranks before screwing in the press. If it is not you will strip out the crank's threads.
