speedplay greasing

I picked up a used set.

I notice that one rotates almost effortlessly with my fingers which tells me it needs grease.

I dont have the gun for this nor a syringe like some use.

That said......i could take it to a shop and have them inject them both for cheap.

I have heard people talk about taking them apart to grease them because the injector doesnt really get in the needle bearings very well.

Being that these are used....would you recommend taking them apart to inspect and grease or just jam it full of grease with the gun and forget it?

On my Drilliums, the injector pushes grease through the center tube and out through the seal on the other side. The bearings are in that tube, so what's not getting lubed? Just push a good deal through. The hand pump grease gun will cost you a twenty, and grease squeeze tubes thread into it. Get one. bk

I use a Pedro's grease gun, works best when I put the pedal in a vise.

You can also do this with a $2 plastic syringe.
