How to remove a superglued bottom bracket cup?

Italian BB, the drive side cup was glued in to keep it from slipping out. Can it be removed? If so, how?

No, I was not. I want to change from an 8 speed set-up to a 10 speed, but the spindle on the current BB is too short for 10 speed cranks....

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Acetone may also remove the paint so be careful how you use it.

1st.. are u sure you are trying to turn the cup to the right side??

The acetone trick works but what will work for sure is to put the cup in a big ass vise and use the frame to crank the cup out, u will have more leverage using the frame than a tool. After that I would advice you to take the frame to a shop to get rechased just in case.

good luck.

ghetto impact wrench. put your wrench/tool on and beat on it with a dead blow. you could just heat it too

a Campag 793/A tool set is certainly the way to go.
putting on the blue Campag service smock would complete the right look too..

Have one of those tools and in the pinarello frame i got the only way i could wrench the darn cup out was the vice technique. The issue with the tool is that the bike needs to be almost complete and with a naked frame and no way to hold the frame to use that tool is hard.

What I did not think was in to put the tool in a vice, and use the frame to lever the tool

Sheldon, as I recalled , or someone , showed a collection
of heavy industrial nuts, bolts and split lockwashers , to effectively make,
a tool like Jeff's example #13 to grip the cup between the 2 big hexes,
and put the monster spanner on to turn it
