My Taiwanese Diamondback frame has no BB drainholes either. It's pretty common actually. I guess they figure most road bike riders don't ride in the rain. I do ALL the time. Riding every day in Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington means what, 200 days per year of rain riding.

The really interesting thing is that I'll consider a custom frame builder who works primarily with steel to be somewhat inexperienced/negligent if he constructs a steel frame without weep holes. The big bicycle companies working primarily with carbon should incorporate weep holes into their designs.

Drain holes are so rare these days I think it's prudent to drill your own or take other measures. Rear mudguard helps a LOT and has other benefits, like not having your shorts feel like a full diaper on rain rides.

Although rather than drill a drain hole (particularly in a carbon BB), I'd just make sure water can't get inside the frame. I wouldn't use gobs of grease, I'd use this stuff. It's what I have filling the holes in my water bottle bosses instead of bolts.
Think we might have a new meme on our hands to rival the roadies' GUADS?

Can you tell me what other cycling websites you posted this rant on? So far, I've found it on two different sites. You can't get this kind of entertainment for free anywhere else but on the internet. Your back and forth with the commentators is downright priceless.

From this point forward, I think I shall consider every possible warranty issue to be a "suck", and any denied warranty claim to be a "funny report".

Better check my Tommasini...
I don't ride it in the rain, but at my age I just might pee in my pants.
=8-)
