Crank arm play
My fixed gear Trek T1 developed bad non-drive crank arm play (about 5-6mm). It has stock Bontrager crankest an d splined BB. The BB appears to be fine, The arm had play on BB spline after I took off bolt; so I am wondering if the arm splines are worn off and I need new arm? I bought the bike used, it apparently has seen hard use. Quite honestly I don't like the stock crankset, would rather replace the whole thing, but not sure what I need to buy. Thank you.

It is very common for a crank arm that has been ridden with a loose fixing bolt to deform to the point that it can not be tightened. Any SS crankset with the number of teeth you want and crank arm length you need will work but will probably mean replacing the BB. Or you can look for specific cranksets that are compatible with your current BB but that will limit you somewhat.

Thank you for reply. This is how the drive side crank looks like. It just came out as I removed left side arm, which came out without need to use crank puller. I am little confused about lenth of BB; It measeres 127 mm (outer edge to outer edge). I thought track crank needs much shorter BB, something like 103 or 107 mm. The BB spindle has 10 splines. Thank you

That style spindle has to be longer than a square taper or splined bb since it goes completely through the nds arm too.

That crankset uses an external bearing style of BB. The spindle is integral to the crankset and the length is fixed.
