Torpado bottom bracket - easy answer?
Hi folks. I picked up an old Torpado frame this afternoon and am in the process of deciding if I want to build it up or just flip it on eBay. It's no great shakes - the paint is faded, it's not that light - probably a lower-end model - but it's charming. I like the lugwork. The chrome is decent.
It came without a bottom bracket. I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that the bottom bracket shell is Italian threaded. Does anyone know if it's a complete crapshoot as to what kind of bottom bracket it actually takes? Or did they pretty reliably use the same kind of bb? If so, what are the details?
Thanks a lot, I'll take my answer off air - and I'll thank you beforehand for your answer, which I am eagerly awaiting. If this information is available somewhere buried deep within bikeforum history, please do not be hostile. I did my due dillgence. Thank you again.

Multiple ways you can check with an open shell. As Italian BB's are fixed cup right-hand thread just look at the threading! Double check with the width of the shell - should be 70mm. Triple check by inserting a standard cup - should slide in, as Italian diameter is 36mm, and English is 1.37" (34.8mm)
