Looking for a new crankset

Hey,

so right now I am running an 8 speed casette with a triple crankset. The crankset is a Truvativ ISOflow Road with 52-42-30T and is ridiculously cheap and is bent up. I want to upgrade my crankset but was wondering if it would be a problem to put a 9sp or 10sp crankset on with an 8 speed cassette or does it matter? I was looking for another reasonably priced triple crankset since I am still a novice rider. I was also wondering if it was ok to run a 9 or 10 spd derailleur on an 8 spd cassette? Any help would be great ?

Thanks,
Ryan

Bikes: road+, gravel, commuter/tourer, tandem, e-cargo, folder

Doing that normally does not cause any problems.

Yes you can use a 9 or 10 speed crankset with a 8 speed cassette. the thickness of chains has changed with more gears skinnier so as long as your current chain meshes right your all set
