Brooks bar tape install help please.

I have bar end shifters. I am installing starting at the bar ends, and going to the tops. I know to wrap clockwise on the left side of bar, and counter-clockwise on the right side of the bar.

Here's my probblem:
The Brooks tape has angled cuts at the end of the tape, and the name "Brooks" on the end.

Which edge should I start the tape on:

1. The slanted, cut edge of the tape butted up against bar end shifter, or

2. the flat edge (uncut edge of the tape) starting butted up against the bar end

3. Cut the tape straight across (square it off) and don't even use the tapered end.

Thanks.

Based on a Brooks website pic I just saw, the right side of drop is wrapped counter clockwise with the Brooks name facing rider. So that side is solved.

Tip 1 for Brooks wrapping:
A practice run with the liner still in place over the adhesive helps to determine how much leeway you have on length. I practiced a little before unleashing the adhesive.

Tip 2: Don't pull too hard, especially around where one piece of leather joins another. I split one of the seams a little. Looks fine though. Taped it on the unseen inside for support.

My only Brooks complaint:
For the price, they shouldn't have seams.

Otherwise - I love it. I used black. It looks and feels fantastic!
