Kool Stop- Scott/Mathauster the same?

I recently changed from using some Kool Stop Salmon pads to some Scott/Mathauster pads. I have read that the two are have identical pad materials, however the Scott/Mathauster seemed harder and are still wearing in (these are new manufactured by Yokozuna). I guess I'm wondering if I'm just imagining the difference or is there something to it.

Kool Stop Manufactured the brake pads that they shipped to Matthauser .
It is Kool Stop's own Salmon Compound..

KS Continental is a direct replacement, they mold the pad as a one piece
and have the stud to mount it out the back..

I think Merry sales of SF made up the Yokozuna name may have a china copycat
since the copyright for the compound may be lapsed.

Unlike Music Copyrights that get repeatedly renewed..
so don't make a mouse cartoon, or sing 'happy birthday' for money]
