Seat post problems

Hi all,

I had my bike frame repaired after smashing it up on a tour and have noticed that the seat post is very tight, you are looking at a good 10 minutes of strenuous exertion to remove the seat post.
Ive had a look at the seat tube and it appears that this has been slightly ovalised, ill soon be flying with my bike and was wondering if there are any ways that i could remedy this problem.

Thanks in advance all.

Rich

Bikes: Too many to list here!

You can usually have the seat tube reamed out until it's round, although depending how badly ovalised it is, that may involve removing a lot of metal. You may need a slightly larger-diameter seatpost afterwards.

Better-equipped bike shops will be able to do the reaming.

Head to a bike shop. And if you haven't had the rest of the bike inspected since your crash, do so. I would not fly out with a bike I was unsure about.
