Has anyone used dupont chain saver teflon spray? I've used on my motorcycles for years. It sprays on easy and is reasonably long lasting on mc so imagine it would work well on bikes.

IMHO all high priced bike chain lubes are just snake oil. Personally I use Mobil 1 oil. It is thin enough to get clear into the pivots and rollers. I had over 8000 miles on my bike chain before any measure of chain wear was detected.

Bottom line------------a fool and his money are soon parted. Or-----------there is a sucker born every minute.

I like the crushed cheerleader lube but it really doesn't do a whole lot for chains.

I've never used Bioshield but I have used Chain L and I like it but only on bikes where I know it could get rained on a lot so I use it my touring and MTB chains. For my regular road bikes I use ProLink Extreme, it keeps the chain looking cleaner and the lube lasts a long time if you follow the directions to the letter...which is the same with Chain L, you must follow the directions to the letter. I also like Rock & Roll Gold, the Rock & Roll was rated for having the least amount of friction of any of the bottle lubes Chain L was rated in the middle but the ProLink (though the test didn't say which ProLink was tested) was rated for having higher friction so the next time I buy lube I want to try the Rock & Roll Gold just to see and try it out.

Same here for my MC chain and have used it on the bike too. It lubes well and last longer than any other wax type lubes, even in the wet, but leaves a build up that usually has to be scraped off the sides of chainring/cassette/pulley wheel teeth. Only kerosene, mineral spirits, WD-40, etc. type solvents will dissolve it when cleaning. There are plenty of other lubes that will last longer and are easier to clean off.

Has anyone used the WD40 bike lube? My LBS swears by it, but not sure why when it's still untested!

so, throw a bit of wd40, biosheild, chain-L, ProLink Extreme, Rock & Roll Gold, mobile 1, dupont chain saver, triflo, atf, bar oil, uncle festers elbow greeze...and hell...throw a little snake oil in there too? sounds like i would be covered (in oil) with this classic mix and good to go!

anyone tried this stuff?

properly lubed chains are happy chains! LubeAHOY!

I don't know how well gun oil works on chains, but ask that you PLEASE do not try Chain-L on your guns,

BTW -- thanks for the bump

Any bump, regardless of motive, is still a bump.
