Anyone ever try to dye a white saddle another color?
Talking about high quality saddles here, but not leather, like Specialized Toupe Pro or similar. Has anyone tried to use shoe dye or other to recolor them? I'm talking about like is done on bridesmaid's cloth shoes or shoes for a prom so they will match the dress? In this case for decorative effect, matching other components, or rejuvenating an old one. I'm thinking of yellow over an originally white saddle. Anyone know about doing this or have any ideas what to use, how to get it to "take" on the synthetic leather, etc? It's important for the dye to not fade, crack, or rub off on the sweaty shorts.
Thanks.
Robert

Nothing will work decently, and whatever you use will quickly transfer to your shorts. Saddles are a harsh damp environment and dye transfer is common on all but solid molded plastic saddles. Probably why most sane people ride in black shorts.

Or go back to the Bike Shop and see if someone else didn't like the saddle that a new bike came with,
those 'Take-offs' cost less than retail, New ..

Perhaps you could cover it with a thin leather cover; looks easy enough..https://www.lfgss.com/thread26852.html
