If your really bored,plastic can be welded.....

I've had no issues using rubber cement for patching tubes,that's what I've used for many years.I used to patch my bicycle and go-cart innertubes with old cut up innertubes and rubber cement....I would have had to collect bottles for a week to pay for an official patch kit when I was a kid....

THERMOplastic can be welded. Cured rubber cannot. It will just char and burn.
