Flat tire----a new problem I never had before
Yesterday when I unlocked the bike for a ride, the front tire was flat. In the process of checking for a puncture, I noticed that the valve assy in the presta stem was loose. There was no puncture, just the lose valve. I now will be checking all the valves to see if they are loose. Others might want to do the same.

Valve core loosening is not confined to Presta valves, Schrader valve cores can come loose as well. My Schrader valves are all fitted with automotive brass valve caps with a tool for tightening/loosening the core built in, similar to this one: Myers Valve Stem Cap With Core Remover | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

Just a side note.... this can also happen to motorcycle tires. Possibly causing you to part company with your Buell at an "elevated" speed. It's ok though, turns out you don't actually need all those little bones in your foot after all.

Can we safely assume that you do understand the inner part of the Presta valve is naturally loose when the tube is not inflated?
