Bikes: 2008 Novara Randonee - love it. Previous bikes:Motobecane Mirage, 1972 Moto Grand Jubilee (my fave), Jackson Rake 16, 1983 C'dale ST500.

Secrets (shh!)
  1. Proper adjustment of derailleurs.
  2. Correct cable housing length (too long slows shifting, too short creates friction)
  3. Older chains can develop side flex and slow shifting, older cogs/chainwheels can develop wear with same effect.
  4. Grip Shift may just be slower, or you may be slower with your wrist than with your fingers.
