Helmets? Eh?

So how many of you use helmets and how often (only when the cops roll up, only when riding vert, that kind of crap) cause i saw some dude just get rushed off to Hospital the other day on tv after he fractured his skull grinding a 2 foot rail pretty rough eh? I guess when i get my bike i'll be wearing mine a lot more.

I dont wear one. I never ride vert and cops dont give people problems for not wearing helmets here, just for riding on things...

I don't wear mine enough. There's not really any argument for NOT wearing helmets, and I know that... but I'm just dumb that way.

You don't break your neck from not wearing a helmet, and I find it incredibly hard to beilieve that your friend broke his neck when your "big" jump is a 1'-tall "gap" over a curb.

ya, hes better than us and it was a big jump.....dirt jumps....the gap was like 10 feet and the jump is like 5 and a half feet tall....so ya and the helmet would have taken some impact...(that what the docter told him) and i do more than just jump curbs............i ride dirt........like small dirt jumps
4 feet tall, 4 foot gaps....good times.

Ten feet is big? I broke my left arm on a four-foot tall twenty-footer last night, and I don't even think that was all that big.

i just said that they were big for us...as far as whats withing riding distance...and just becuase we cant do 20 foot gaps off 4 foot jumps doesnt mean we cant get hurt. oh, and, was the jump in like a rythm section or just alone or in like a 6 pack or somthing...thats a big gap for such a small jump....

It's stupid not to wear a helmet. They are so light nowadays that you can sometimes forget you have one on. And if somebody thinks they look geeky, well, nobody cares what you look like. And the majority of deaths on a bicycle occur because the victim was not wearing a helmet. Would you drive your car now without using a seat belt? Same principal. So wear the helmet and be thankful for the increased safety. It's dangerous enough out there already.

I rarely dirt jump, but the only thing i would do over a 20 foot gap would be a xup or maybe a barspin.
10 foot gaps are nothing, i have 360d,whipped and truckdrivered over them

You said that they were big in general (see following quote). And the jump I got broke off on was in the opening straight of the local track; I would've had it clean if it hadn't been so damn windy.
