The spring failed before and is the reason for me overtightening & snapping a bolt. The other spring gave up this weekend. It looks just like the other spring. I wont try to get it to work again (no same mistake 2x).

BMX isn't NASA. Stuff is cheap in price and quality, and things wear out. Then there's the issue of operator error. If you two want to continue your bickering, you'll have to PM each other, as this thread is now locked.
