No. What you guys got against the Yankees besides that they are winners and that they have a high payroll?

-Haven't won in awhile, but still act like teams should just roll over to them. See: '06 ALDS -Their payroll value isn't so much of an issue to me as how their organization is. They don't develop any players, they have no farm system, Derek Jeter is a total prick (first hand), they have one of the worst sports-franchise models in team sports; fortunately enough for them they're in media-metropolis New York, so they've got enough cash and fans to not worry about things like, uh, developing new players. -Their treatment by the sports media. Even when down 3-1 and away in the ALDS, absolutely no one in the sports media thought that they would lose that series. "This is the best lineup in baseball since 1921, I still think they're going to win this series." -Harold Reynolds. Anyone who watched that series knew that, when Joel Zumaya struck out 66.5 million Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers worth of players in a row AT the bandbox called Yankee Stadium, the Yankees were done, but sports-media didn't want to admit it. Maybe that last bit is on sportsmedia then, but it certainly doesn't help the negative association I have with the Yankees. |
I'm not hating on you, but you really need to checkout the Yankee farm system right now... they have some of the best minor league players in the system, especially in pitchers, which is most important. I have not met Jeter, so I don't know him personally. Yes, they haven't won a series in a few years, but they are getting closer now, it's just the expectations that they will always be there. The media is like that to them because they do have a very good team and that they are always expected to win.

They say the red sox suck yet end up taking most of their players...ex. myers and damon. and my favorite reason is that they are idiots and have 5 outfielders.

edit: also, mike myers is a situational lefty specialist that is valuable to any team... damon is a star player and he chose the Yankees over the Red Sox. |

I do agree that he is being rather stupid with the whole Mo situation. But look at your GM, how much money did he spend on an unproven pitcher from Japan, which itself is not anywhere near the caliber of players/hitters as America? Too much.
I've heard of this Phil Hughes kid, but his talent isn't anything the farm system coached; he hasn't gotten any better than he was in high school. Besides, the way to go is picking kids out of colleges, and letting *their* pitching coaches make all the adjustments to the fundy's and THEN bringing them up to AA/AAA. Tampa somehow has the most ridiculous farm system ever. It just sucks for them to have to play in the AL East. I suppose I could mention the Tigers farm system here, too, but that would be beating a dead (Yankee) horse, wouldn't it? =0p |

Snapped the regular brake cable, this was all I could find on short notice.

I'm really becoming a fan of white bars and forks with other colored frames.
I'll be doing the opposite come spring time...white frame green forks and bars. Of course this time i'll be doing it right. |
I need to find a straddle cable and better things to do with my time...
