Cut post and bars.

Switch to magnizum pedals over aluminum(in some cases)

Change tires...odd as that sounds a tire like a Tioga Comp III is about 1/3 less weight than a Primo Wall for example.

Get a lighter stem

Cut axels flush with bolts.

Fill your tires with helium...
Pray you don't try the last one.

Yeah, cut it just enough so the clamp has room to grab it, and slam the seat.

Yeah I don't really see any problems with advice he has given at all really. he may anoy some of you but he's a memeber of the forum just trying to give some advice. For the most part he isn't really very unreasonable about things.

i used a pipe cutter to cut mine, if you got one, they do a nice job making the end even. how would you cut the axle to make the threads even?

Put a nut on the axel where you want to cut it off, and cut it with a hack saw against the nut.

Oh, ok thanks.

How much axle can be left on each side, at the least? Just right up to the axle nut?

That is the worst way to cut an axle; it's almost never even, takes forever, and it won't be chamfered.

Mark the length you want to cut it a piece of tape, cut it with a Dremel (or similar tool), and then file the corners down to an angle.

Thats how I, and most of the others I ride with do it, and it has turned out fine for all of us...I don't see how it could not come out even... there is a steal nut there to cut against as a guide.

use a nut as a guide over tape. but yea use a power tool over a hacksaw. that takes forever.

try a hacksaw on 41thermal that would be fun.
