yea, I would change that front wheel out soon before it just snaps/bends so much that you hurt youself

Chris Gabriel 11-11-06 08:50 PM

Yeah, probably the next thing to get when I get some money. The spokes are all bent but I'm still amazed it lasted that long.

...thats what she said.

premiumbmx2005 11-12-06 11:42 AM

i dont know how people can ruin front wheel unless you grind/run into brick walls.

FitRider 921 11-12-06 12:46 PM

or you have a single wall wheel...

premiumbmx2005 11-12-06 12:54 PM

i had a single wall in the front for years and it never even had a wobble.

FitRider 921 11-12-06 01:57 PM

Yeah, that's true... my front wheel is just dandy... my poopy-butt jalco in the back is not so great... but not beaten to a pulp yet

premiumbmx2005 11-12-06 02:06 PM

im probally going to 'revamp' my whole front end. new rim, fork, headset, and a stem.

christmas, baby, christmas.

FitRider 921 11-12-06 02:12 PM

Yeah, I wish... I probably won't get any bike parts for xmas because my mom is going to tell everyone not to buy me bike stuff because she doesn't want me to ride again... but I'm gonna ask anyways because that's all I want anyways.

EDIT: If I didn't have old Welgo's with most of the pins missing, I probably would not have experienced my injury in the first place.

eightdip 11-12-06 02:57 PM

Jim C's!!

FitRider 921 11-12-06 02:59 PM

Precisely.

Brok3n Arr0w 11-12-06 11:56 PM

i finally got my bike--fit pro 2007. riding that thing is like an orgy of a 1000 virgin lesbians....in my mouth. black/red paint job, smooth (almost silent when riding) not too heavy, i'm very satisfide with it. but the first upgrade will be pedals (jim c's probably). but is the extra $$$ for sealed bearings/magnesium needed? my current pedals have very little grip w/tiny nubs.

(pix later)

Hah! Post of the month, lmao. The sealed bearings aren't too much more money so I'd get them if you can, but I've been running the unsealed ones for over a year without them getting too wobbly, and without having to tighten them. Magnesium saves weight if you're worried about that, but if you throw the bike they're more likely to crack, and if you grind on them they'll wear out a lot faster than aluminum.

My Haro front wheel that mude killed was just fine until the race/bearing things decided to like come out and basically not even let the wheel spin...

I can't even explain what he managed to do to it.

FitRider 921 11-13-06 01:49 PM

I wouldn't get sealed pedals because they aren't worth it, most people just have unsealed. Magnesium pedals are quite nice if you don't do pedal grinds and you don't mind forking up the extra $15 or so to save a few ounces.

I have sealed pedals and like them alot more.

The bearings stay cleaner and smoother. They also spin slower so on no footed tricks and such they don't move like crazy.

Plus the Wellgo Mg-52's i got were pretty cheap for sealed and Mg, and light too.

premiumbmx2005 11-14-06 01:25 PM

how are they holding up?

FitRider 921 11-14-06 01:49 PM

They are $50 instead of $30 like most other pedals... it's almost twice as expensive.

eightdip 11-14-06 03:18 PM

I have Sealed Jim C's just because they last longer and feel alot smoother. And also what Kinetic Said about spinning

wethepeople 11-14-06 03:38 PM

Ya, sealed Jim C's here, I like that they dont spin on no footed tricks, plus they dont wear as fast.

premiumbmx2005 11-14-06 05:22 PM

since im broke i got unsealed...for only 5 dollars w/ extra pins and a sticker.

Really well, if you were refering to my pedals...

Mude has had them long than i have, and neither of us are having any trouble.

No pedal grinds or pegs for me though ,so they don't get much abuse...

premiumbmx2005 11-16-06 01:35 PM

i do pedal stalls on quarters...i wonder if that would do anything to them
