Fitting Grips

Anyone got any good ways to fit grips with out using water and too much energy.

Using water just makes them slip and its hard to ride like that!

cheeers!!!

Put them on with water and wait a few days, the water will evaporate eventually and they'll be on fine

I use Isopropyl (or rubbing) alcohol because it evaporates quickly, but you still need to give it some time before riding.

It works like magic when removing old grips too; just jam an old spoke in between the bar and grip, squirt in a bit of alcohol, and slide it right off.

no, it dries fast and the better reason than air compressor is it keeps sealed better and makes the grips sticky.

Yeah wd-40 works good, your grips are solid within 15 mins, unless you use too much

Mine have never slipped using a compressor, wd40 on the other hand has always done me wrong.

Windex works good though.

Lock-ons are the stupidest thing to hit BMX since Rick Thorne.

Because they are sharp and hurt like a ***** if you grab them off of spins?

Because it's just one more thing to break?

Because if you're smart you don't need to lock your grips to get them not to throttle?

Because they're twice the price and last half as long?

Plus they're usually narrower and thats a pain in the ass as well, they're good for MTB's if you change bars or hand controls a lot or if you don't move your hands a lot. In BMX they're gay.

My ODI lock ons were awesome till they started throttling more than my normal grips.

if you go to a bike shop, they'll use an air pump. just go to a gas station and blow the air in it as you pull them on.

I get up around seven
Get outta bed around nine
And I don't worry about nothin' no
'Cause worrin's a waste of my... time

The show usually starts around seven
We go on stage around nine
Get on the bus about eleven
Sippin' a drink and feelin' fine

We been dancin' with Mr. Brownstone
He's been knockin'
He won't leave me alone
No, no ,no, he won't leave me alone
I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said the little better than before
I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said the little better than before

Now I get up around whenever
I used ta get up on time
But that old man he's a real mutha****er
Gonna kick him on down the line

I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said the little better than before
I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said the little better than before

Shoved it in the bindle and I shot it in the middle
And it, it drove outta my mind
I should've known better, said I wish I never met her Said I,
I leave it all behind

Use an air compressor and just get under the grip and move it along inch by inch.
And if you don't have access to one, there's another way that I haven't used that seems pretty sound though. Get several zipties and put them in your grips so they would be in between your grip and the bar. slide the grip on and the zipties will slide along the bar easy, then once the grip is at the correct place you pull the zip ties out and the grips will be on without waiting to dry or any thing like that.
