What to ask for on birthday?

I`m asking for a new BMX bike for my birthday, my LBS only carries mirraco so i`m trying to decide between asking for a mirraco
https://www.mirrabikeco.com/bikes_blend_one.html
or
any of the bikes at danscomp, 300-500$

oh and i`ve seen in videos that when some riders pedal backwards the bike travels backwards, sorry i dont know what this is called but if any bikes come with one it would be nice, but i dont have to have one.
THanks,E

Bikes: BMX, fixed gear

only go with the blend if you're a slightly shorter rider.

and when you backpedal, it isnt propelling the bike backwards. the pawls in a cassette hub will catch and cause you to backpedal. not backpedaling while riding is only done with a freecoaster, of which i am ordering in the next couple days. theres a BIIIIIIIG difference between the two. check it out on the web.

mirracos are any good?
I say yes. I have a LBD that I have bought many bikes from. They are the only brand he now sells and I trust his judgment.

I'm not too thrilled about loose ball hubs on a $400 bike. But, wheels will need replacing at some point anyway and it does have double wall rims. If you do get it from your LBD he should be willing to stand behind it if issues arise. I would pony up to the Blend 2. As stated the frame on the 1 is a little short for you.

Yes, go visit him first. Sounds like a sales ploy to get you in. Most shops can get almost any bike, but if they are not a dealer or their distributor does not have a connection then it will cost you more. See what he stocks and ask him what other brands he has access to. Put the ball in his court. Don't educate him on what you are looking for initially. Hopefully he knows his stuff and can provide the right bike and service for you.

eastern blows. except for sprockets cause they make em really light, and its kinda hard to screw up a sprocket. but all of their other parts are ****.

It's easy to screw up a sprocket, ask eastern how they did it.
