Athena Needs Help for MS Bay to Bay 2012
Hello - I am an Athena and am active in the Clydesdale / Athena forum.
I signed up for Bike Forums in Mid-March at about the same time I signed up to do the MS Bay to Bay in October 2012. I signed up figuring it would give me the long term incentive I needed to ride and get more fit and lose weight.
Here is my donation page:
https://main.nationalmssociety.org/si...al&fr_id=18684
I have not booked the hotel yet as I don't dare if I can't raise the funds required to participate.
I am not riding just for the heck of it of just for my health, tho that is a big motivating factor. I am riding to honor one someone I love and admire. My godfather has suffered with this disease since I was a young girl. He is one of the best people I have had the privilege of knowing. Growing up he was kind, funny and loving. He had only sons, so I was his "special" daughter.
Here I am with him and my Aunt (who is also my god-mother) taken in June 2010. My Uncle's name is Alf and I am riding for HIM.
I have been riding pretty consistently since February...here is a combo photo from my true start point in July 2011 and how I looked on May 5 when I did the Tour of LB (30 miles):
Here I am the first time I did the Palos Verdes loop and some climbing:
I finished the Big Ring Metric Century in June:
My club did a nice 44 mile ride on the 4th of July and here I am:
Tackled Glendora Mountain Road to the Shack with some fellow GMR Rookies from the Clyde/Athena Forum on Aug 5...here I am happily climbing up GMR:
Part of the group at the Shack:
Attempted to get to the Village on 9/1 but due to heat and gate closure only did the Shack:
Close up shot of me on GMR:
Video of my physical progress:
Won't you help me do this ride? Here is the link again:

Received some donations and am feeling confident in my chances of raising the $ so will be booking my hotel room in the next few days. If you can spare even $5 please donate.

Inching closer to the minimum...still need $165. Please help if you can spare a few bucks. Even $5 helps.

Getting closer...$335 out of $400 needed! Only $65 left to go. Won't you consider helping a fellow BF rider with a donation of $5?
See first post for link.
Thank you for your consideration.

I donated a little. Good luck in your fundraising and ride! I want to ride this next year.
