attic cleanout - bike value request

Hello, this is my first post on these forums. I just moved back to KC after 10 years in Denver, but while loading my moving van somebody stole my bike. So I raided the family's attic to see if there was anything worth trading for a new (used) bike for myself. I found a few bikes, and was hoping someone here could tell me their worth. Any info is greatly appreciated!! (due to the 12-pic limit I could only put four pics of each bike, but I have many more hi-res pics available if they'll help)

The first bike is my grandfather's Raleigh Grand Prix:

Next is something called a Numano:

And finally, my Mom's old beast - a Huffy Santa Fe with probably less than 20 miles on it:

The Raleigh is the only one with real value of the bunch. The UNI disc wheel looks wild and probably has some value on its own.

Raleigh, without the disc wheel cover: $50-75 because the condition is so bad.
Numano: $10-20
Huffy: less than $10

iirc Numano is a badge from Brasil.

unfortunately right where it says "MADE IN ____________" on the head emblem the writing is mooshed.

are you able to read it? looks like ~1968.

Thanks for the replies! The Numano does indeed say Japan. And I'm pretty sure that Huffy is so heavy it smooshed down my paver stones. Can anyone explain this wifi trout logo on the Huffy?

That might actually be worth something, but I know nothing about BMX bikes.

Also, I forgot to complain about this last time. But in the future please PLEASE only take photos from the drive-side of the bike. Not the non-drive side like all of yours so far...

Not all of them, boss. That Positron pic is (hopefully obviously) from the drive side.

Raleigh Grand Prix is worth well north of $100. Get whatever you can out of the rest. With a little work you could get over a couple hundred bucks for the Raleigh but, it probably wouldn't be worth the effort.

I was wondering this myself- from my unprofessional eye (have not rode BMX since 1986) that looks the business.

Bikes: Still a garage full

Those hubs/rims on the Raleigh are a serious upgrade, but I have no idea what they're worth. Campy hubs, Wolber rims.

I'm guessing whoever was riding the Numano had comfort issues.

Bikes: Current 79 Nishiki Custum Sport, Jeunet 620, notable previous bikes P.K. Ripper loop tail, Kawahara Laser Lite, Paramount Track full chrome, Raliegh Internatioanl, Motobecan Super Mirage. 59 Crown royak 3 speed

I would say $150 or so value for the Raliegh with about a $100 of that in the wheels. The BMX mini is not high end but is kinda cool and somewhat collectible you could likely get $200-250 in it's current slightly rough shape. The other two aren't worth much.

Bikes: Too many to list

BMXmuseum.com would be a much better place to ask value on that little Mongoose- Is it a 16" or a 20" ? The pics make it look tiny --- i have a Supergoose frame from that era and it is a pricey rascal now

Yours is pretty neat - original Snakebelly tires and all that

There is the answer, sell off the BMX and buy a different bike, Mayberry sell off the Raleigh. It could be brought back to full operation but will not be a terrific expenditure value wise.

Apparently neither of you have reached the PM posting limit (50 or 60 posts?)

Why not tune up and keep the old Raleigh. Perhaps pick up a good used set of wheels and put the old ones aside for classic rides if you choose to do them. It isn't a real high-end bike, but would make a great town bike.

You'll get a bit more if you clean and tune the other bikes, but not a lot.

Thanks Clifford. The first bike I bought with my own cash was a Skyline department store bike with Shimano Positron setup, sold the bike decades ago. Sure would like that shifter setup if there is a way to do it I'd be glad to hear how.

If the OP chooses to part out the Huffy, then if he posts back here we'll get him in touch with you.

I looked up "positron II" on E-Bay and got several hits including a few NOS shifters and derailleurs. I haven't paid a lot of attention to the box of steel derailleurs at our local co-op, but I did see several shifters that bolted onto the stem rather than attaching to the quill. You might check out your co-op. Old Huffys and Murray bikes show up at thrift stores and Craigslist from time to time, often for low prices (although Craigslist can have higher than expected asking prices).
