Need help identifying a Celeste Bianchi

Hello all.

I've been talking back and forth with the owner of this bike; here is the information from his listing.

"Vintage Bicycle is in excellent shape. New Seca tires and tubes, Philwood Hubs, Durace Sprocket, Campagnolo Brakes. $250. or best offer! Thanks for looking!"

However, he doesn't know what the frame size is (it fits him, he's 5'8") and there's nothing along the top tube to indicate the model. He says that it is all original except for the pedals and the wheel set.

So the question I have for you is, what model is it? What is original about it? Would you value it at $175?

Thank you all. Looking forward to your responses. The link to the ad is below.

Always thought "Celeste" looked better on a Stratocaster than it did on a Bicycle.

Sorry, when he referred to the color of the bike, he referred to it as "celeste." Is this an incorrect designation? More importantly, what does celeste refer to when dealing with Bianchis?

Celeste is Bianchi's signature paint color. It usually sells for a premium over equal bikes painted other colors.

This is celeste.

Pic stolen from interwebs.

Ahh, thank you for showing me the difference. Not going to lie, that Fender Stratocaster looks really, really nice. So am I out of luck when it comes to figuring out what model that is?

The color is actually Turquoise and between that and the square world champion decal I would think it is an '87 model but something looks off. I would think an '87 would have under the BB shell cable routing

Can you get some better pics showing the seat lug area and fork crown? This could be something like Columbus tubed Trofeo or a Japanese Brave or nothing at all. I'll try and squeeze in a quick peek at the catalog before work

How does a Bianchi with Dura Ace components and Phil Wood hubs last for 20 days on CL at this price? I'd say a prayer of thanks to the ugly bar tape, the plastic block pedals and the comically cake sized gel seat cover. Then I'd quickly and quietly exchange this bike for a small wad of cash.

Yeah, except in Fender lingo that color is called surf green. Subtle difference in that, and Fenders seafoam green.
Interesting to note, that when Fender Strats were first introduced they used car paint. So you can find that same color on some 57 chevys.

The subject bicycle is a 1987 , Japanese manufactured, Bianchi Premio with upgraded components. It's 1987 by virtue of the rectangular CdM decal while the non-Gipiemme dropouts and fender eyelets indicate a Japanese frame. The Premio and Sport LX were the only Japanese models that year to have a rear dropout with integral hanger and this can be narrowed down the Premio based on the colour, cable routing over the BB shell and exposed brake nuts.

The Premio...... I suspected you would know. I didn't have time to look but couldn't wrap my brain around that under cable routing.
